Not Just for Slideshows

A user recently commented that while they appreciate the interface tweaks of Accordance 8.1, they would like to see us go further in minimizing the user interface elements and maximizing the screen space devoted to the text of the Bible. The thing is, we've already done that with our slide show mode.

In the window menu, you'll find the "Slide Show" menu item. Selecting this menu item, or using the corresponding Keyboard Shortcut command-option-S, will turn any open workspaces into a series of slides (based on the tabs you have open), and will hide all but the most essential interface elements. This feature was designed to be used in presentations, but it can also be used for extended reading.

For example, let's say I have the text of 1 Samuel 17 displayed in my Workspace. By hitting command-option-S, I go from this:

SlideShow1.jpg (xl, l, m, s)

. . . to this:

SlideShow2.jpg (xl, l, m, s)

If I then want to begin reading without scrolling, I can simply command-click the down arrow of the scroll bar to have Accordance auto-scroll the text for me like a teleprompter. If I need to pause the scrolling, I just click again. (The auto-scroll feature can be turned on in the Appearance settings of the Preferences.)

If I decide at some point that I want to add highlighting, attach a user note, or look something up, I can easily toggle out of Slide Show mode and have all the features of Accordance at my fingertips.

If you want a minimalist interface, be sure to use the Slide Show feature.

I know I asked you a while ago and your first screenshot here made me think of it again, do you think you could post a screen shoot of how you have your library organized?
