Happy Thanksgiving! On this day when we give thanks for our many blessings, here are a few Accordance-related things I’m thankful for:

I’m thankful to work for a company that is dedicated to helping everyone from top scholars to “the rest of us” study the Bible more effectively.

I’m thankful that we’ve built a reputation for excellence in product development, customer support, and publisher relations. We’ve done it by consistently over-delivering on our promises.

I’m thankful that I get to work with folks who feel more like family members than co-workers. How many people can really say that they genuinely like all of their co-workers? I’m grateful to be among the few who can.

I’m thankful for users who feel more like friends than customers. At the just-finished annual meeting of the Society of Biblical Literature, someone remarked that at other booths, he is treated like a customer, while at the Accordance booth, he is part of a community. I can’t think of a higher compliment.

I’m thankful that after an extremely busy year, the fruit of our labors has been enthusiastically received. Accordance 9 has been a huge hit, as have been the many new modules we’ve released.

On a related note, I’m extremely thankful that JBL is finally done!

Finally, I’m thankful to have a job that allows me to spend so much time with my wife and children. Working for Accordance is not without its stresses (especially during the build-up to ETS/SBL!), but I’m grateful my family is always close at hand to provide comic relief.

Those are a few of the things for which I’m giving thanks this Thanksgiving. If you need one more reason to be thankful this year, look for tomorrow’s announcement about our Black Friday special! Until then, may you have a very Happy Thanksgiving.
