We hope you are enjoying the recent 9.6 update for Mac. As David Lang mentioned in his last post, this update is especially good news for users of Unicode Bibles. In fact, one Accordance user recently tweeted:
“I don’t understand #Accordance team. Unicode support alone was worth a full new version…”
It’s funny, because I remember hearing the same thing back when we added the Dynamic Interlinear in version 9.5. This was a major new feature that would have worked well in a paid upgrade, but our development team felt strongly that this should be a free upgrade for all Accordance 9 users.
These are not unique examples, as the Accordance philosophy has always been to continue offering high-quality updates well after a new version is launched. As I thought about this, I decided it might be fun to create a top ten list of my favorite features added to version 9 after launch day. And so, withut further ado, I give you my Top Ten List of Awesome Accordance 9 Features that were Released as Free Post-Launch Updates (working title).
10) Footnotes display in Instant Details when you hover over them (9.4)
9) Word searching in Unicode Bibles (9.6)
8) Report a correction (9.5.3)
7) In-app update system (9.6)
6) Compare multiple texts (9.3)
5) Cross-highlighting displayed in all parallel key-tagged texts (9.5)
4) Award winning Help system (just won a second award!) (9.3)
3) Search the Library by module name, title, author, or publisher (9.4)
2) Dynamic Interlinear (9.5)
1) Sync with iOS (modules, notes, highlights, and User Tools) (9.3 and 9.4)
Just think, if you bought Accordance 9 on launch day, all of these features would have been icing on the cake! These only represent a small fraction of the updates added since the release of Accordance 9. If you want to see a comprehensive list of all the updates (and have some time on your hands), you can find one here.
