Many Accordance tools contain images of some kind, which are displayed in the tool as a clickable thumbnail.
In Accordance 8, when you clicked this thumbnail you would get a new tab displaying the image at the full size of the workspace. That was nice, but if you wanted to look at a series of pictures you would have to switch back and forth between the tab containing the tool and the tab containing the picture.
Sure, you could have detached the picture tab so that it appeared in a separate window, but how many of us thought to do that?
In Accordance 9 we added zones, so when you clicked a picture thumbnail in a tool you would get a new zone displaying the image. Now you could see the tool with all its thumbnails and the picture window side-by-side, but if you had more than a couple zones in the workspace, the picture zone was likely to be very small.
The ability to magnify the picture zone to fill the workspace comes in very handy in such instances, but then you can no longer see the zone containing the tool and its thumbnails.
Wouldn't it be nice if you could just click a Picture thumbnail and see it at large size, yet in such a way that you can easily get back to the tool containing that picture? And while we're at it, wouldn't it be nice if the thumbnail and picture viewer were given a slick, modern look?
Hmmmm. It sure would be nice.
Since the Bible is the focus of Accordance, wouldn't it be nice if you could format the Biblical text for export with more options. You could use superscripts for verse numbers. You could have paragraphs with first sentence indents. You could choose bold or italics for reference citations. You could have poetry export correctly without the seemingly random carriage returns.
This is a fun game.
Wouldn't it be nice if Accordance synced my viewing preferences, workspaces, and modules across multiple Macs?
Wouldn't it be nice if you could browse the Accordance store from within the app?
Wouldn't it be nice if Accordance had a full-screen mode?
Wouldn't it be nice if Accordance ditched floating palets altogether?
Wouldn't it be nice if Accordance could sync my user notes to iOS devices automatically instead of relying on local wifi sync?
Wouldn't it be nice if you could move from one picture to the next within a resource just by using the right and left arrow keys?
Wouldn't it be nice if all this was available in a "point release" for Accordance? Wouldn't it be nice if that new release was available today? :)
Wouldn't it be nice if I could be beta testing this right now? Or if I knew when I would be able to? (hint)
Wouldnt it be nice if I totall agreed with Ron (double hint)?
Well... all these "niceties" did not come in today's 9.6.6 update! ;o)
We all look forward to the next leap forward. I personally do not use the Atlas mainly because the navigation is so poor. Please, oh! please add azoom scroll based on the mouse wheel of pinch movement and a pan based on a click and hold mouse scroll wheel and an appropriate hand gesture. Not being able to easily navigate a map is utterly frustrating.
Thanks again for all the great work.
This may turn out to be one of the better free updates!
Will all the modules from Accordance 9 work on Accordance 10?
Hey Archie,
Absolutely. All your current modules will work in Accordance 10 along with any new modules you pick up in an Accordance 10 Collection.
