Accordance Widget

If you have OS 10.4 and Accordance 6.7 or above, you can add the Accordance Widget to your dashboard. The widget lets you quickly retrieve verses from any Bible text you have in Accordance, and paste them into a document you are working on.

If you have Tiger, run the Accordance installer to place the Widget on your desktop, or download the latest widget here. See the Widget Read Me for installation instructions and other tips.

Using the Widget

Bring the dashboard to the front (the default key is F12). Simply enter a verse reference and press return or enter. The verses you requested appear in the opened scroll.

Click the magnifying glass to retrieve recent searches for quick access.

Click Copy to copy the text to the clipboard for pasting into another document. The text will take the font and style used at the point of insertion.

Click and drag the bottom of the scroll to lengthen the window.

Options on the Back

Click the i button in the bottom right corner to set the options:

• Select the text from the pop-up menu showing the list of texts available to Accordance.
• Click Update to update the list if you have added more modules or rearranged them.

• Check Auto Search to have the widget enter and use a reference you have selected in the frontmost application.
• Check Auto Insert to have the widget automatically paste the text at the insertion point of the frontmost application. You can use this in conjunction with Auto Search to have the widget automatically replace a selected reference with the actual verses in a word processor. You will just need to invoke the dashboard and then press enter.
• Check Copy as Citation to have the text display and copy in the citation format used in the menu item of that name in Accordance.
• Click Done to return to the front.

Updates

Version 1.6.1 of the widget is available for download. New features include:

• Support for OS 10.5 (Leopard).
• Autosearch runs even when widget is not in front (in 10.5).

New features in Version 1.5 of the widget included:

• Larger text size in bigger area.
• Can be resized vertically.
• Version number shown on back.

New features in Version 1.4 of the widget included:

• Full support for OS 10.4.7.
• Finds Accordance automatically, but only opens it when needed.
• Supports Greek Unicode in Word2004, and accents in English and foreign texts.
• Control + and - scroll through the text list.

AccUpdater Widget Version 2.1

This widget lets you quickly compare the current versions of all your modules with the website information on the latest available modules. It is intended for OS 10.4 (Tiger) and above. Accordance installers for 7.1 and above will place it on your desktop.

Using the Widget

• Run the latest version of Accordance before you use the widget.
• Bring the dashboard to the front (the default key is F12).
• Press the Check button to have the widget go online and see what possible updates exist for your modules.
• If an update is available for any of your modules, they appear in a list below.

Getting information

• The list shows the module name, the version you currently have and the newest version available.
• Click on an item in the list to open a drawer with more information on the update.
• Clicking on the module name in the drawer will link to a web page listing all CD-ROMs the module appears on. Please note that the newest version may not be available on all of these CD-ROMs.

Automatic downloads

• A checkbox beside an item indicates that an automatic update is available. (Only a few modules will have automatic updates.)
• Click the items you want to select, or click the Select All button.
• Click Download Updates to get the updated modules
• The widget reverses and requests your Mac administrator login and password.
• Click Continue to perform the updates.
• The AccUpdater will replace your modules with the new downloaded modules.
• Please note, you do not need to remain in the dashboard during the download and installation processes.

Note: You must be connected to the internet to use this widget.

• Support for OS 10.5 (Leopard).
• Fix of some errors.
