"I Switched!"
Comments from users who completed the switch.
" I was hesitant when I got my Mac last year to switch to Accordance, but after I did... just like with my Mac... I was... "WOW!" I know that doesn't sound very scholarly... but all I can say every time I use Accordance is "WOW! I can't believe I waited so long to switch to this program!"

Last year I made the switch to a MacBook Pro laptop and purchased VMWare Fusion so that I could still use [the other programs]. When [another program] came out with a Mac engine for their product I thought I would finally be able to switch entirely to the Mac.
I have never had much results doing sermon prep and bible study with [the other program] but it was, as far as I knew, the best bible software package available. I did an internet search for Mac Bible software and Accordance popped up. I purchased the Library Collection Premier Level and briefly tried it and wasn't really impressed. I thought it was a lightweight program that also didn't fit what I was looking for. My fault! I recently watched your podcasts and started reading the blogs and forums and decided to give it another try.
I now have my workspace set up to do exactly what I want to do for sermon prep and bible study. ALL the information I need is readily available and I must say, I am really impressed with this package. It is my primary bible tool and I have not used [the other programs] since. I love Accordance and there is no going back.

Why I Came Back To Accordance
It was the resources that won me over. The other Bible software had thousands and thousands of titles. I could find and buy books by my favorite authors: MacArthur, Piper, and so on. Surely it wouldn’t matter much if it wasn’t as fast as Accordance and was still missing features and was less than ideal on other features. Or so I thought.
So in June of 2010, I sold off several of my Accordance modules, uninstalled it, and put it on the shelf. I didn’t feel that I could use two Bible software programs at once and constantly have to think about how to do this or that in one or that other. Besides, I didn’t want to invest in two programs and have overlapping resources. I still don’t.
I spent a lot of money quickly, buying books left and right and signing up for even more that were still in pre-publication (I could get better deals that way). Then, at the beginning of 2011, I suddenly realized that I had more resources than any of my old preachers heroes of the past (except maybe Spurgeon)! What was I doing with them? Frankly, many of them were unread and unused.
Now, true, I could search them and quote from them, but then I read that John Stott said that he never quoted a book that he hadn’t read first. That really struck me as a statement of intellectual integrity. What was I doing with hundreds of books I could search and quote and yet would perhaps never get around to reading?
I downloaded the Accordance iPad app and remembered that I still had many resources in Accordance. Out of curiosity, I decided to try the new (to me) Accordance 9. My fingers quickly relearned the easy way of searching that Accordance offers. I was stunned again at the speed, the stability, and the light use of computer resources. It truly is a David versus Goliath situation. Nimble and quick against sheer size.
Thankfully, I was able to get a full refund. So once again, Accordance is where I go to do my Bible study. I can’t really explain it, but just feels more natural to study the Bible in Accordance to me. Perhaps it’s the speed, or just the way Accordance is laid out and how it works. Accordance helps (or even makes) me focus on the Bible more.

"From what I have read, there are many people who have used [another program] extensively that love it. The same is true of Accordance. However, for those who have used BOTH extensively, these people mainly seem to prefer using Accordance, and [the other program] collects dust. This tells me that those who don't know any better are perfectly content with [the other program] , but those who have used Accordance are officially spoiled and feel like the scales have dropped from their eyes. Therefore, I must conclude that I would probably feel the same, and leaned towards Accordance."

"For me, Accordance has a good form of tunnel vision ... the Bible is always in the center but I can tunnel out to a variety of resources I might need quickly and easily. [Another program] has too "flat a playing field". Every work seems to be equivalent to all others and if the links happen to be there it "might" be what I need, and it might not. This "flat field" has me spending too much time on distractions chasing rabbits. Accordance's search and reporting tools are awesome and natural after a little practice. In short, its all right there at my fingertips without distracting extra screens/windows/panes/dialogs/menus and other interface methods. It allows me to refine my workflow, build custom environments for different kinds of studies and have a wealth of really cool resources that turn scholarly black & white into dynamic colorful insights."

Can You Say These Things?
Switchers to Accordance agree. Accordance is a pleasure to use. It just works. It's addicting. It's a refreshing change from other Bible programs. It has that "indefinable something" that you expect Mac software to have.
If you're not raving about your Bible software, if you're continually waiting for things to improve, only to be repeatedly disappointed . . . it's time to complete the switch to Mac:
