We are excited to announce a major update to our Bible study app for iOS. Version 1.6 is a free update for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. Similar to the 1.5 release before it, this update includes major design enhancements and readability improvements.
We've also added some highly requested features like bookmarks and Dropbox syncing for notes, highlights, and user tools.
For a full list of major new features, check out our New Features in 1.6 page. If you like what you see, consider leaving us a review in the App Store. Your reviews make a huge difference in spreading the word about Accordance, so thank you!
We hope you are enjoying the recent 9.6 update for Mac. As David Lang mentioned in his last post, this update is especially good news for users of Unicode Bibles. In fact, one Accordance user recently tweeted:
"I don't understand #Accordance team. Unicode support alone was worth a full new version..."
It's funny, because I remember hearing the same thing back when we added the Dynamic Interlinear in version 9.5. This was a major new feature that would have worked well in a paid upgrade, but our development team felt strongly that this should be a free upgrade for all Accordance 9 users.
These are not unique examples, as the Accordance philosophy has always been to continue offering high-quality updates well after a new version is launched. As I thought about this, I decided it might be fun to create a top ten list of my favorite features added to version 9 after launch day. And so, withut further ado, I give you my Top Ten List of Awesome Accordance 9 Features that were Released as Free Post-Launch Updates (working title).
Just think, if you bought Accordance 9 on launch day, all of these features would have been icing on the cake! These only represent a small fraction of the updates added since the release of Accordance 9. If you want to see a comprehensive list of all the updates (and have some time on your hands), you can find one here.
Any chance there will be an update for syncing user notes across devices that aren't iOS? I use Accordance on both my Macbook and iMac daily, and it's a constant frustration that my User Notes don't sync between the two. I use the user notes to type my own translations from the Greek. If I work on that while I'm out (at theological college) and then want to keep working on it at home (on my desktop), it just doesn't work.
We hope to provide syncing via the Cloud eventually. For now you can transfer the User Notes file between computers (user/Documents/Accordance files), as long as you do it every time. You could keep a flash drive with your latest copy and update it each time you work on it.
Is there a way I can save the master User Notes files on Dropbox, rather than in user/Documents/Accordance, and then get each of my computers to read the User Notes files from off Dropbox? That way I'd be working with only 1 User Note file and wouldn't have to worry about the flash drive thing.
