This is most definitely possible. It is one of the great features of the CNTTS NTCA. At the top left, above the search window, there is a drop list next to the one that reads CNTTS Apparatus. From this list, select Manuscripts. Then type the MS you want to search in the search window (for the Papyri you need to put a space after the P so P45 should be P 45. This is just the nature of the Module). The module will then highlight that MS in the Apparatus. You can use the drop list next to the <detail> button (on the far right above the main text window) and select Articles, paragraphs, or Add Titles to limit the amount of text that is shown in the main text window.

In addition to selecting a single MS you can perform searches with multiple criteria by clicking <more options> (below the search window on the left). Then you can enter MS B03 in the main search window, and the Reference John in an additional search window and the Module will find all of the John passages that are in B03. You could add another search window and limit the search to find the Additions in John in B03.

Hope this helps.

Tim

I have a question concerning the usage of CNTTS. Is it possible to restrict your searches to the range of a specific MS? e.g. let's say manuscript X only covers portions of Luke's gospel, how would you restrict your search to that range?

Similarly, if undertaking the search found in David's earlier post at http://www.accordancebible.com/about/articles/cntts.php, how would you restrict the search to the overlap between the miniscule 69 and f13? Otherwise, the search "f13 <NOT> 69" would presumably include hits where 69 is incomplete?

Dr. J

Great post, David! Thanks for recruiting Whatley for this blog.

I've been thrilled with my CNTTS apparatus. I believe it represents a BIG step forward for both text critics and exegetes. I look forward to more research along these lines, now that the apparatus is complete.
