A handful of tabbed web browsers use command-T to add a tab, but far more programs use command-T to open the font panel. This dichotomy applies to Apple's own applications as well as others, so clearly this is not one of those keyboard shortcuts which is standardized across applications. Neither, for that matter, is command-I, which invokes Get Info in some apps and italicizes text in others.</p>
