Now that Mac users have lots of storage space (hard drive or RAM), surely the time is coming when a competent human reader will be recorded for the Hebrew and Greek Scriptures. The era of using the Mac OS system voice (I use Fred) has passed.

Of course, both Hebrew and Greek present challenges with pronunciation systems. I suspect that you'll have to provide a couple of options for each, using your seminary profs as consultants.

For Greek, I guess that the Mounce version of Erasmian pronunciation would be an inescapable choice.

It's possible for an app to get Apple approval within a week of submission, though I don't know what the holiday season would do to that.

In the spirit of Advent, we aren't decorating the house for Christmas until the iOS app gets released. And, the choir party is on Boxing Day, 12/26.

No pressure, of course.

Joe, you forget to mention that it will automatically check the air pressure in your tires! As for the Greek searching via voice command, there's still internal debate about whether to use Erasmian or modern pronunciation!

But seriously, I'll be addressing what you can and can't expect in this first release in future posts. I'm afraid a few people's utopian expectations may get dashed, but I think most of you will be very pleased. :-)

The app will open every module I own, allow in-app purchases, sync with all my computers over the cloud, including the old G3 in my basement that's not even on the internet, sync user notes with all my Word docs, zotero bib references and WoW index files, open multiple windows to view alongside one another (even though iOS handles only one window view at a time), push bible content to my TV via AppleTV and AirFlow, allow creation of user bibles of all unicode languages within the app, and perform modern and ancient word search via voice command ("Search for 'ἐδάκρυσεν' in GNT-T"), won't it?

The hope of one day having Accordance on my iPad was one of the core reasons I originally bought one. It is the premier study device, and having Accordance on it is what is was made for!! Can't wait!!! Can't wait!!!
