misaligned highlighting

This is an odd one.

I was tracing the use of music in the New Testament and my search created this view for Acts 16:25

If I 'hover' the cursor over hymnoun the highlighting in my KJV text straddles two words highlighting 'aises un'.

If I hover the cursor over theon the highlighting picks up only 'd;'

Can you reproduce the same effect?

I think it's a known issue, but what happens when you change the font size?

If I set it to quite a large font (up three from my normal font) the alignment is correct.

I've got the same problem. Misaligned highlighting. Also, the word my cursor hovers over is not the word showing up in my instant details. I have to hunt around with the cursor to get the instant details box to display the correct information. It's like some words "highlight" into the neighboring word.

Is it 'known' what Accordance plans to do about the 'known issue'? Drivers of Rolls Royces become very intolerant of 'squeaks'. ;-)

It's a very complex issue, but we are determined to fix this problem without breaking other features. It may take a while.

I found another peculiar effect of this problem with the GNT-BYZ rendering of Luke 11:9

the conjuction 'kai' is used 4 times (including in the first word 'kagO' but placing the cursor on the four different 'kai's produces a very odd crop of results with the highlighting in the KJVS.

This should be corrected in the next upgrade, due very soon.

Thanks Helen

That's good to hear.

  • 3 weeks later...

Is this another example of the same issue or something different?

I am tracing Luke's use of Spirit fulness. The link between the KJVS and GNT-BYZ seems to have broken completely on the word 'fill' etc. Placing the cursor on the English does not highlight the Greek and placing the cursor on the Greek does not highlight the English.

It seems to work in both directions with the ESVS.

That suggests that we are improving on the old KJVS tagging in the ones we are doing.
