I'm doing a search for [KEY G5921] in NIV11-GK and it returns 153 hits. In the Mounce Greek Dictionary for this key it says 155x. Can someone explain why there's a difference and is there a simple way of determining where the difference lies?

I searched the NIV-G/K and found 155 hits, versus 153 in NIV11-GK. I searched [CONTENTS NIV-G/K] [CONTENTS NIV11-GK] and got only 2Cor 9:8 which has charis [KEY G5921] but the word grace is omitted in NIV11 so the Key number was not assigned. My guess was that the other extra occurrence is twice in one verse, where NIV11 has it once, so I searched both texts for [KEY G5921] [KEY G5921] and the Contents search revealed James 4:6 where on the second occurrence NIV11 has favor which is not tagged.

The broader answer is that we got permission to tag the NIV11 with GK numbers as a temporary fix while the Zondervan scholars are preparing their own definitive version. This accounts for the missing tag in the second example. There are certainly other inconsistencies as this was a quick fix when the NIV-G/K was no longer available.

The two verses "missing" in your [KEY G5921] search are 2 Cor 9:8 and James 4:6. It looks like the tagging for χάρις is missing in the NIV11-GK.

EDIT: Ah, while I was typing this response, Helen replied. Her responses are always much more definitive and authoritative.

Thanks Helen and Sean for your help. I wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking something. Knowing 2 Cor 9:8 and James 4:6 are the ones missing will suffice. :)
