Concordance

I searched for all words in the Psalms of Solomon (OT-Pseud module) which highlighted every word. I then hit Details, and the concordance tab. Then I hit the "one keystroke everyone must know" (to quote Lang) and chose to concord the search range only. It did not work. The concordance was still concording the whole Pseudepigrapha.

Am I doing something wrong, misunderstanding something, or is this a bug?

Thanks, Danny

Danny,

How did you define the range: in the Range pop-up menu or using the RANGE command? If the latter, the Concordance may still be considering the search range to be All Text rather than Pss. Sol. Try defining a range in the pop-up and running the search again.

Hope this helps.

You have found another place where it makes a difference how you set the range. I think you used * [RANGE Ps_Sol] and you are correct that in this case you cannot limit the concordance to the range. If you set the range in the pop-up menu, concordance will be limited to that if you so desire.

I guess David beat me to it!

Thanks, that did it.

Can I suggest that maybe an option be "concord only the defined search range" so that it restricts it to the [range]. I daresay this would be the most common way to search a range. Having to create a new range in the pop-up would mean that the range choice list would soon get too long.

Also, just to note, at Ps_Sol 8:0 the first word (the article) is oddly tagged as,

Sorry, but this really is not feasible. the [RANGE] command was intended as a quick way to do temporary ranges, but it functions differently from regular ranges. The list of ranges can always be pruned if it gets too long.

In Ps_Sol 8:0 the first word is correct in the current PSEUD-T module, you must be using an old version.
