Upgrade/Lost Discs

When Snow Leopard was released a few weeks ago, I decided it was time to do a clean install on my MacBook. It had a lot of junk built up over the years and I was looking forward to some spring cleaning. The problem came in when I went to reinstall programs.

A couple of years ago, I purchased the Standard version of Accordance 7. Unfortunately, when I went to reinstall after Snow Leopard, I discovered that my discs were lost (along with a box of books :( ) in my last move.

I'd already been planning to upgrade to Accordance 8, and I figured this was a good time to do it. Looking at the Upgrades page, though, it appears that the only upgrade option is to download an Upgrade Installer, which would not work since I don't have the original installed anymore.

As I still have my Unlock codes for the Standard version and for my purchased books, what's my best way to get a DVD with Accordance 8 and modules? I can prove (with the Accordance website) that I legally purchased them all. Is there a way to get an 8 DVD for the $40 upgrade price?

I think I've even managed to confuse myself in writing this, so if I can clarify anything, please let me know.

Anybody had a similar situation that's been resolved?

Thanks in advance.

Upgrades are confusing, and they depend on what each user already has. They are best dealt with by a direct email to our sales staff who can look up your records and advise you on the best course.

You never need the old CDs in order to install an upgrade: all our upgrades are full versions of the product, offered at an upgrade price to those who purchased an earlier version. You should not sell or give away the old disks, though, as this violates the license agreement.

I am not sure which level of 7 you have, Library Standard or Scholar's Core. In any case this page points you to the approriate upgrades.

If you only download Accordance 8 it will be able to update only those modules that are available as online updates (basically those that have been updated since the DVD was mastered).

If you pay another $15 for the Primary DVD it updates any modules you have installed and which are also on the DVD, except for a few which require a new password for a fee. Your old codes for modules will work, but not the codes for a level such as Standard level.

What we hope you will do (and we price the upgrades to make it a very attractive offer), is to upgrade the level, such as Scholar's 7 Core Bundle to Scholar's 8 Standard. For $69 you get version 8, the new DVD, a brilliant new installer, additional modules, and a new code to install the new level. If you already paid for version 8 or the Primary DVD, you get credit for that. We would have far fewer tech support calls and emails if everyone would just do that.

I hope this helps.
