I watched the ESV Study Bible video. I would like to buy the Accordance modules to make use of what was shown. What level package do I need and what modules do I need to add to the package?

Thanks

The ESV Study Bible is a download at present. You must own Accordance 8 in order to purchase it. If you already own the ESV or ESVS modules you can purchase the "upgrade" or add-on of just the ESV Study Bible for $40. Otherwise you order the full ESV Study Bible for $70 which will include the unlock of the ESV.

To upgrade the ESV to the ESVS (with Strong's numbers) you need to have the Primary 8 DVD and pay the $20 upgrade. I know you didn't ask about that, but I wanted to complete the picture.

Why so complicated? We are obliged by contract to sell the Study Bible with the ESV, but we know that many users have or get the ESV as a free unlock, or the ESVS with their Library 8 Standard or Premier level. We want to give those users a break. We did a lot of work to add the Strong's numbers to the ESV, so we do charge a little for that upgrade as well. Here's a summary of the individual prices:

  • ESV Study Bible with ESV $70
  • ESV Study Bible add-on to ESV or ESVS $40
  • ESV Bible $30
  • ESVS Bible with Strong's numbers and Key dictionaries $49
  • ESVS Bible with Strong's numbers and Key dictionaries add-on to ESV $20

I hope this helps.

What about the Hebrew and Greek text that was used in the video?

They displayed parsing information.

That's a whole different story! The Scholar's Intro level includes both texts and much more for $149, or you can simply add-on the BHS-W4 for $60 and the GNT-T for $50. There are several other packages which include this modules, and the website is the best way to explore all the options.

So glad you found the podcast helpful, and the ESV SB so appealing. I have using it regularly. I'm sure you'll be very happy with it.

Be sure to share the video with your friends, there are still waaay too many people out there who don't understand just how easy studying the Bible on a computer can be.

The ESV Video is what is making me reconsider purchasing your software. I have always conceded it can make things more easily, but since I am a programmer by trade, I have not desired to read a computer at home also.

Are there any differences between the core of the Library and Scholars package? I understand they have different modules. If I buy the Library package, can I eventually add things that might be used in the scholars version or is there a difference in the core of the application?

I hope my question makes sense.

The core of the Library, Scholars, or any other package or module we sell is the same - it is all Accordance. All you worry about are the specific resources you get; all of the searching and study tech is included no matter what you get. When you get either the Library or Scholar's collections, they all come together on the Primary DVD, so if you do choose to get the other one, you won't even have to pay shipping or wait, just call/e-mail us and get the unlocking codes.

Hope this helps.

You could also get the best of both, with an additional discount, in one of our bundles: Intro Bundle, Standard Bundle (see also the Premier and Super bundle here).

Remember that you can use one of your free $30 Bible unlocks included in any of the packages (excluding the Starter) towards the ESV, which will allow you to purchase the ESVSB for $40.

I wouldn't mind seeing this podcast but the link both for iTunes and Web Download seems to be severed. All the other clips appear to work fine.

Thank you Rick

I am already a subscriber, however re-subscribing via your link has now solved the problem. Much appreciated.

I am preparing to purchase a few things but need clarification on how to make my purchase. I want to get Accordance Bible 8.

I think I qualify for this: Accordance 8 Upgrade from 7 for $39.

But I would like to add to this the ESVS and the ESV Study Bible. To accomplish this can I purchase the ESV with Strong's Group for $49 and add the Accordance 8.1 Primary DVD for $15. Then can I purchase the ESV Study Bible - add-on to ESV for $40.

This brings my total price to $143.

Thanks,

gary

Yes, I think you are correct, but if you have a previous Library or Scholar's level you may get better value by upgrading that rather than the program and DVD separately. ESVS is included with Library Standard and Premier levels.

These questions are best directed to our sales staff. They can look you up and recommend your best option.
