Installing Accordance 11 on Dell Venue 8 Pro 5000

I've got a new Dell Venue 8 Pro 5000 loaner, and was trying to install Accordance 11 on it. I can get to the setup screen and Easy Install, but then Accordance won't launch after that. (Windows 8.1)

I have spent very little time so far getting to know the Dell Venue (I was inspired by seeing it in and Accordance promo video!), so it's likely there's just something easy I can fix and haven't figured out yet. It's a new 64GB device. I was only trying to do a partial install of modules.

I can provide more info or email Support if that's what Accordance recommends... but I thought I'd ask if anyone already had experience putting Accordance 11 on that device, and any suggestions? I was getting Accordance just from the installers page... signed in and validated with no problem.

Abram, did you ever get this working?

Thanks, Rick--no, I haven't yet. I'm going to spend some time watching basic tutorial videos for the device. I couldn't figure out how to shift-click from the onscreen keyboard for a small initial easy install (did it manually), but even so, I can't install.

I think I need to know or find out how to delete everything from the previous install and just try again. I certainly know how to do this on a Mac!

Abram, I'm not sitting in front of a Windows machine right now. But if you've looked in all the usual places for remaining files (and I assume you ran uninstall), turn on hidden files. In the user's directory, in "App Data" (I think), you will find a few more files that can be deleted.

The Dell Venue 8 Pro can be finicky in my opinion--regardless of which program you're using. I would recommend a fresh restart before installing any program.

Let me know if any of this helps. If it doesn't, I'll look into it further and find for you what you need.

Thank you, Rick--I thought I ran uninstall. I'll try deleting hidden files. And "all the usual places" is similar in Windows as in Mac, I'm assuming? (I.e., Preferences, Application Support, etc.?) Shows how long I've been in front of a Windows machine.

I'll check the forums, too, when I get a chance--surely someone has already documented the details of how to do a total uninstall and fresh install of Accordance on Windows.

It could be from the Dell device's end, but it does also seem like something in Accordance 11 itself wasn't working quite right for the install. Thanks for your help.

I think I have mostly figured this out--there was something awry with the internal date setting on the device (not Accordance), that was causing other things not to work properly, too.

I never had problems installing or running Accordance on my Dell Venue 8 Pro, but I had other problems such as OneDrive syncing and regular WiFi failures. From some of what I've read on line, the Dell Venue 8 Pro is a bit of a finicky machine. I sold mine last week.

Ah. That would also resonate with some of my experience, but I want to give it more time before I conclude the same from my end. :)
