Text Limit on User Notes

I am having a problem pasting some text into a note on a verse in my personal notes. When I try to paste, it says "cannot excede 32000 characters with paste" and yet I am only pasting 29,511 characters. What is the actual limit of what can be pasted into a verse note? Also, is there any way to bump this limit up in a future version? I have extensive notes I like to bring all together in Accordance and frequently the text is more than Accordance will let me put on a single verse.

I just copied two pages in MS Word and came up with 4000 characters (with spaces). Does that mean you are trying to paste 14 or so pages at a time into a single user note?

In Pages, it's just over 8 pages using Helvetica 12....

I don't have an answer about letting your notes be longer. But I can let you know what I would do.

 

When you have sections that are this long, just make a new user tool (from the massive section of text) and link to it from your user notes.

 

I haven't had a need to try this, but I imagine it should work. I've linked sections of some user tools to other user tools, but not from user notes to anything else (except, of course scripture).

Arrrgggh, I'll just add that function to my "Things I'd like to see Accordance do next" list. I have to admit though, it was an ingenious solution. It only had the slight flaw that it was entirely impossible. (-:

So back to the original query... Anyone know what the maximum number of characters is?

Actually, as I noted, I have had problems pasting less than 32,000 characters in an empty note on a verse. I'm not sure what's going on there. It would be very helpful to have the tool upgraded to support additional text and some basic rich text features. For example, it will let you set text as italicized, but doesn't actually display it that way. Perhaps most users don't use user notes, but I use it to compile extensive verse by verse notes that I then take out of Accordance to format and compile into longer documents on passages of Scriptures. I'm probably an edge case, but I bump into this limit (whatever it actually is) fairly often.
