Styles in User Notes

Just passing along this comment from Facebook:

Accordance is great. I'm a long time user and often recommend it to my friends. To make it even greater, here's something on my wish list: Enable the User Notes to carry styles across platforms. Every time I open my user notes on my iPhone, it warns me that if I change the notes, I'll lose any styles that I've applied. I'm not a huge user of styles, but I might be if this limitation wasn't there! While working on my Macbook Pro, I've wanted to bold headings in my notes and apply other styles, but I don't because I know that they'll just be gone as soon as I edit them on my iPhone (which is what I use for taking/editing notes during sermons and seminars.) It doesn't seem that it is a system limitation, but rather an app limitation. I have several other apps that carry styles across platforms just fine: Pages (and all Apple apps), Evernote, etc. I wish Accordance could do this as well!

I agree. It would be great to be able to do that.

Yes. Agreed. I have stopped editing my User Notes in iOS for this same reason.

I'd love to see styles and hyperlinked scripture references in Accordance iOS notes.

Again, OliveTree makes Bible references into hyperlinks automagically, no need to select anything and press the button "make hyperlink" or what ever it is called. Just enter reference and it becomes hyperlink. That's why we have computers, haven't we? ;-) Why not the same on Accordance for iOS?

This is an old-ish thread, but I've started using Accordance in iOS more frequently recently, and wanted to echo again the usefulness of the request Darin mentioned last fall.

My current workaround (so as to preserve formatting in my main User Notes file) will just be to put all mobile notes in a separate notes file, and then copy-paste into my main notes file when I get back to a computer, so I can preserve all styles.

Yes Abram that's what I do. It would be much better if we could edit without losing formatting in iOS.

Word. The good news is: it's generally been my experience that even if it takes a while (as with upcoming arbitrary text selection and highlighting in iOS), Accordance does tend to eventually add these kind of basic features that enhance the user experience. So I'm holding out hope for that and looking forward to the possibility, so my User Note workflow can be a little better integrated.

Just think of all the excitement we get when these enhancements finally arrive. I suppose you could go for the Pauline solution and get a secretary to write it for you ;-)

That literally never crossed my mind. Brilliant solution.
