Fabian
Hello After a few adding User Bibles that I have self formatted for Accordance I would lovely see an option window by import User Bibles. 1. A Radiobutton to select between: a. English Bibles (with KJV verse numbering) b. German Bibles (for the other verse numbering) c. Greek Bibles so they go to the Greek section d. Hebrew Bibles (so they go to the Hebrew section) e. Maybe for other RTL Bibles (or this will function in the Hebrew) With this it would be possible to make a text compare for User Bibles. That not work at the moment. 2. A Radiobutton for: a. Without numbers b. with Strong numbers c. with GK numbers d. with lemmas This will to assume how to format a tagged Bible in the Help area. 3. A Radiobutton for: a. non connections b. with connections and then a browser field to search would be active for the couple Modul for the Siglas (like </ connected contents) I know this would be need some more support time, but when the users had the knowledge to format a User Bible with this criteria then I belief that they are not overwhelmed to click the right button. Fabian
To 1b from my post above. At the moment if I copy paste from a german User Bible to Word. It is formatted as english and not as german. Maybe if Accordance support my requests then it is correct by copying. Greetings Fabian
Fabian
Till my requests above is fullfilled I have another wish. Please open the restriction a little. So that we can import Bibles in the german numbering without problems. Especially in 1King 5 till verse 34; 1Chr. 5 till verse 43 and so on. Ezek. to 21:37, Joel 4:21; etc. you can see on the http://www.accordancefiles1.com/exchange/documents.htm my list. that were in between helpful. Fabian
And as I learned that the Chinese Bible has also another verse numbering: Add this too in point 1. And if there are others than they too. Greetings Fabian
Fabian
Is it possible to add a command like <head> </head> for headings with a checkbox to switch on and off in the cmd-T prefences? It will be good if it is hidden then the search don't find them. At the moment in User Bibles the search find what it is in and also when it is hidden. It doesn't display but the counter count and the verse is showing. Greetings Fabian Edited December 16, 2014 by Fabian
Fabian
Is it possible to add a command like <head> </head> for headings with a checkbox to switch on and off in the cmd-T prefences? Or something like the Μαθθαιον 1,0 ¶ ΚΑΤΑ ΜΑΘΘΑΙΟΝ what tags are here used? A lot of Biblesoftware has to display or to hide the headings, It will be cool if Accordance can do that too. In regular module as also in User Bibles. Greetings Fabian
Fabian
And as I learned that the Russian Bible has also another verse numbering: Add this too in point 1. And if there are others than they too. Greetings Fabian Morgado likes this

jlm
I tried to import a Bible and got no further than Num 18:1, with the error that the preceding chapter has too many verses. It does indeed have 26 verses, as do various Bibles already in Accordance: LXX1, NJB, CEI. Reading some old threads, it looks like User Bible import only works if the versification is sufficiently close to KJV, so apparently my only choice is to manually renumber verses (or write my own verse remapping engine to do it). I realize defining a new verse mapping scheme is complex, but for Bibles that correspond to schemes already handled by Accordance, couldn't you let users choose a Bible with the same verse mapping scheme? It would save a lot of verse renumbering.

Over the years I have my tricks to find a good verse mapping. L has a tool for that but we have to trial and error. But I read now you have a user Bible which has an exact Bible in Accordance so choose that. Greetings Fabian

I had not noticed that important button, and so I retract my feature request: it already exists. I now just have to fix some book name abbreviations, but I know how to do that efficiently. Fabian
Hello again. Many requests are still open and I have a new one. Can there be a checkbox for Latin texts? So the Imported Bible which is Latin goes to the correct place. Thanks Greetings Fabian
EricC
Fabian, With the current version (13.0.5) of Accordance for Mac, is it possible to import a user Bible with Unicode characters? I did one years ago, and want to update it, but I don't want to waste time trying if it's not possible right now. Thanks,Eric

I did one years ago, and want to update it, but I don't want to waste time trying if it's not possible right now. Thanks, Eric Attetion this is a little big off topic, but I answer it. Hello Eric Yes 13.0.5 unicode import works again. Be sure you use "utf-8". No utf-8 with BOM etc. But the import has some other bugs, which I hope if will be fixed in the next releases. If your Bible is the protestant canon it should work fine. Greetings Fabian
