Placement of Rom 14:24-26 in GNT-BYZ

Dear Accordance,

Is there any way to place Rom 14:24-26 (= Rom 16:25-27 in NA27) in its proper place in the GNT-BYZ module, or would this mess up the parallel-text programming? Actually, I'm not even sure where to look in Accordance to find out that the verses Rom 14:24-26 are not even where they stand in the printed edition. Can somebody help?

Rom 14:24-26 represents a rather significant block of text that has been translocated to the end of the book, and some Byzantine-priority advocates point to this as an example of the preservation of the pre-canonical form of Romans in most manuscripts, while the UBS/NA27 placement represents the polished editorial position it received for a later "canonical edition." By the way, I believe Jakob van Bruggen is preparing an article on this very issue due to be published in a collection in 2012.

Sincerely,

If your search text is set to the GNT-T and you navigate to Rom 16.25-27 and have the GNT-BYZ in parallel it will correctly display Rom 14.24-26. And vice versa, if GNT-BYZ is the search text and you go to 14.24-26, 16.25-27 will display in parallel in the GNT-T. See here:

Dear Rick,

Ah, so that's how to do it. Thank you! I'm a brand new Accordance user and just figuring out how to do things on it.

I did notice, however, that Rom 14:24-26 comes up just fine (i.e., after Rom 14:23) in the iOS for the GNT-BYZ module. I like that better, and wonder why the desktop version can't do it that way.

Sincerely,

Hmm, I'm trying to replicate it not coming up but can't seem to do so now. Sorry for the confusion. I think I was confused or had the wrong module open.

Dear Rick,

Oh, I see what I must have done. I started playing around with the GNT-T module which doesn't have Rom 14:24-26 in that place. Later, I added the GNT-BYZ text pane and was playing around. I eventually closed the GNT-T text pane, which left me with only the GNT-BYZ text pane open. But when playing around with GNT-BYZ, Rom 14:24-26 remained absent, I guess because it was still somehow synced to GNT-T, even though GNT-T has already been closed. Does this sound right?

Sincerely,

Jonathan

The Search text pop-up menu in the top left corner is what determines the verse order in the text panes below, even if none of them are displaying that version.

Sorry, I'm now a bit confused myself. If you haven't figured it out, post a screen shot of your current workspace and I can annotate it with an explanation of how the texts are displayed, sync, etc.

Thanks Rick and Helen,

By the way, as a new user of Accordance, it was not intuitive to me that a text could be open but not be using the verse numbering for that text! But now I understand why. Thanks again.

Sincerely,

Jonathan
