Peter Maddison
Hi there, I have a reproducible error doing the following: 1) Highlight word 2) Search For Word 3) Show Analytics # crash Acc 10.0.5/Mountain Lion 10.8.2/Intel Core i7 I have attached a screen shot showing the resultant search window that opens with a search on the word 'through'. Any attempt to show any analytics causes a crash. (see blow - original image deleted) Any thoughts? Thanks Peter Edited October 24, 2012 by Peter Maddison
Ken Simpson
Hi Peter, I can't reproduce the crash, but that might be because you have a very complex workspace. I'll let the devs look at that. My comment is a little more mundane. I think you have taken your screenshot using the utility "Grabber" which produces a tiff format image. This is a fine, but very large, and will not display inline on the forums. If you need to grab a menu item, then a timed shot is "Grabber" is one way to do it, but for most other screenshots it is best to use CMD-OPT-3 (to snapshot the whole screen) or CMD-OPT-4 (to snapshot an area of the screen you define using the crosshairs that appear). The screenshot then will appear as a jpg file on your desktop labelled "Screen shot xxxxxxxxxx" where the xxx's are the date/time of the screenshot. Peter Maddison
Hi Ken Thanks for the tip on the screen grab. I have gone back and closed my workspace, opened a new one with an ESVS text and the search and analytics all work fine. I will wait and hear back from devs also. (I didn't realise my workspace was complex - most of the ones I have are set up similar to this) I have attached an image using the method you suggested. (I think you meant CMD-SHIFT-3 though. CMD-OPT-3 is the highlight pallet.)
Ken Simpson
sorry - yes - my brain freeze there. This time your screenshot works beautifully!
Peter Maddison
I have done a little more testing on this 'bug' and have found, that opening another workspace, while the 'offending' workspace is open, I can do a search in the new workspace and then analyse the results, without a fatal error. (See screenshot) I have also retested the search and analyse on the original window while I have Accordance configured like this, and the final 'show analysis' step still produces a fatal error. Any thoughts?
