Martin Z
Hello, I searched for all the words occur 27 times and less in Judges 19-21. Here is the command and result. Then I duplicate the tab, and launch "Hit" command (to show the occurrences in the whole Bible), at the same time, I exclude the ProperNouns. Here is the command and result. Interestingly, some of the result is not I expected. For example, the verb חול occurs only 2 times, according to the searching result. However, CDCH says that it occurs 8 times. And a search on lemma on this verb in the BHS shows 9 times of occurrence. this verb happens to occur 2 times in the Judges. Therefore I was suspecting that the 2 times is in the Judges. However, if I change the "Hit" command by not excluding the ProperNouns, Accordance shows 9 times of the occurrence. Therefore, only the "<NOT> [NOUN properName]" command makes the change. See command and result below. What is the reason? (I understand that the CDCH variation is probably due to the way the author thinks about the lemma, but I don't understand why the "<NOT> [NOUN properName]" command would make this change (from 9 times to 2 times). Thanks, Martin
Helen Brown
[NOUN properName] eliminates any hits where there is a proper noun anywhere in the same Verse (or phrase etc. whatever your scope is). To eliminate the proper noun for the search on a word use @-[NOUN properName].

Martin Z
I have another question: What is the difference between @-[Noun ProperName] and @[Noun -ProperName] ? See the results: @-[Noun ProperName] @[Noun -ProperName] Martin
Lorinda H. M. Hoover
I believe the first option eliminates all hits that are Proper Names, but leaves in any hits that are not nouns. I think the second includes ONLY nouns, but NOT Proper Names. Lorinda
