search window error message

Hi all,

My search window does not seem to have the same elements as shown in the tutorial. ( I am using Accordance 8 on a MacBook Pro) When I type in a verse reference to search, my window does not show the "OK" icon, and when I click on the searchlight icon instead, it sends an error message saying that "there are characters that are either unexpected or in the wrong position." For example, I typed in Rev 7:9-17, but could not get it to respond properly.

We recently changed the OK button to a Search button.

 

You are possibly getting the error because you did not remove the asterisk that appears by default when you open a Search window set to verses. This enables the window to display the entire text. To display a more limited text, replace the asterisk with your reference. If you just want to jump to that reference, enter it in the GoTo box at the bottom. This will take you there, but keep the entire Bible in the window so you can scroll to or jump to another reference.
