Mike Thigpen
I am having trouble correctly formatting a search string in the search window. I tried using the following: מַלְאָךְ=@ [sUFFIX third masculine singular] to locate occurrences of the word messenger/angel with a third masculine singular suffix. I can get the search to work using a Hebrew construct, but even time I try this in the search window, I find no occurrences. I've checked the Guides, but cannot figure out what I've done wrong. I'm trying to learn to do more in the search window instead of always using the constructs, but today I've struck out. Any help would be appreciated! Helen Brown
The @Suffix tells Accordance that the word IS a suffix, but you want it to be followed by a suffix so your search argument needs to be simply: [sUFFIX] מַלְאַךְ Prefixes and suffixes are treated as separate words. The @ is used to join criteria that apply to the same word, for example [NOUN] @ מלך.
Mike Thigpen
Thanks! I missed that distinction and understand now what I need to do for searches like this one. Mike
