Daniel Francis
Thank you very much it is fantastic to have the complete set finally. The one smallest of flaws... and one so minor that I can easily live with, but I thought I would inquire about. In Volume 12 of the print edition has several colour plates after the Outline for Revelation. ART INSPIRED BY REVELATION The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse Albert Dürer (1471-1528) • Death on a Pale Horse William Blake (1757-1827) • Death on a Pale Horse J. M. W. Turner (1775-1851) • The Fifth Seal Vision: The Souls of the Martyrs Under the Altar The Douce Apocalypse (13th Century) • Le Sommeil des Justes (The Sleep of the Righteous) Angers Tapestry (14th Century) • The Angel Standing in the Sun J. M. W. Turner (1775-1851) • The Last Judgement William Blake (1757-1827) • "America, a Prophecy." Copy A. Bently 1/ Frontispiece William Blake (1757-1827) • I was just curious if this omission was permanent or an oversight? -Dan PS: Thanks once again for getting this out.. HansK
Thanks! Why is the name of the OT module not NIB-OT?
Daniel Francis
I cannot speak for your set up but NIB-OT and NIB-NT are how they appear on my MacBook and on my iPad. -dan
HansK
I had deleted the OT part that was released in May from the Library. After Easy Install the old name for the OT part still appears. I have tried again (deleted the whole set from the Library and force a new Easy Install). No change in the name of the OT part.... Daniel Francis
Please note I believe there will never be a single NIB in the same way we have EBC-R Accordance choose to make it 2 distinct files. I had thought you had meant why is the New Interpreter's Bible OT file not named constantly with the NT file. -Dan Edited July 13, 2014 by Dan Francis
Julie Palmer
Because of the size of the files, there are separate modules for OT and NT. If you purchased the 12-volume set (NIB-12volume), it will show up in your library as NIB-OT and NIB-NT.
Daniel Francis
Because of the size of the files, there are separate modules for OT and NT. Just to play devils advocate..... WBC-OT.atool = 151.4 MB NIB-OT.atool = 87.9 MB NIB-NT.atool = 56.3 MB So size seemingly should not have been an issue... but this way has it benefits too... People with limited space on a device can choose to install only what is absolutely needed for them....

NIB-NT yes, but not NIB-OT (still the old, long name)
Julie Palmer
My mistake. The module names are NIB-OT and NIB-NT. However, the title (how it shows in the Library) of the OT module is the long version (New Interpreter's Bible OT & Apocrypha) while the title of the NT module is NIB-NT. David Lang
Dan, Julie is correct that we divided NIB into two modules because it was too large for a single module. But the largeness has to do not with file size, but with the amount of text and number of paragraphs. Once we determine that a commentary is too big for a single module, we try to divide it into logical subdivisions, such as OT & NT. The divided modules may then each be well below the limit. Hans, the Library name of the NIB-NT module should read "New Interpreter's Bible NT," which is consistent with the Library name of NIB-OT. I failed to notice when checking the NIB-NT module that the Library name was not showing up properly. We'll get that fixed in a future update.

The reason for their exclusion is that Abingdon's license for their use has ended. While developing, I asked if we could make high-res scans of them and was told that even for their new print copies they are having to remove these images. It's too bad, really. These are very nice plates.

These are very nice plates. Well for posterity's sake. Here is the Art Work as I collected it off the Net years ago.... We may not be able to have it in our NIB but at least others can see what use to be in the NIB. EDIT: The 8 Plates may be seen at Thanks for the NIB Family. With no File to download. -Dan Edited August 12, 2014 by Dan Francis
