Rob
Hi, I have a file that was sent to me using Yehudit. How do I open that file in the emulator so I can read it? Thanks! Rob
Robb B
Rob, You would have to have the Yehudit font installed in the emulator. You probably can do that by downloading the demo version of Accordance, if you don't own it, although I'm not sure about the legality of using it for that purpose, so you should check to see if that is a violation of the license for that font. Then you'd have to open the file using whatever program is compatible with the file format of your document. In the emulator that could be tricky if it's not a PDF file. Rob
I'm not an Accordance user yet but if its helpful in opening the files that I have I would definetly consider it. I tried converting the file I have to PDF and then opening it in the Emulator but the Yehudit font is still gibberish. Rob
Helen Brown
You will have great difficulty opening anything in the emulator except for ASCII text files. The Reader there is really old, and there is little other software included. But if you want to try, be sure that Yehudit is installed in the System Folder>Fonts. You will find demo fonts in the Accordance Demo folder, and can drop these onto the closed System Folder to install them. You really should ask your friend to supply the file with the Hebrew converted to Unicode. That way it is platform and font independent, will work in OS X and on Windows 200 and up. Rob
Helen, I now installed the demo on an OS X system. For some reason it still does not allow me to read files with Yehudit. Is this an issue because it's a demo or should I be able to read it? Thanks, Rob
Helen Brown
Have you installed the demo fonts? Do they appear in the Font menu of the application? What type of file is this?

Helen Brown
You cannot open a Word document in the emulator, and you cannot install our fonts in Windows. I think you need to call tech support 407-339-0226 since it is not at all clear what you are trying to open and where, and what you have installed and where. This topic is not helpful for the Forum.
