Λύχνις Δαν
Hi ya, I am wondering if someone can confirm or clarify this for me. It appears that search both directions when applied to a syntax search functions only on the first level where there is more than one element. By way of example take the following construct which finds hits in Jn 1:1. For the purpose of these tests I limited the range to John. Now when run (without search both directions) this tells me there are no hits. If I check search both directions it then finds among other things this : John 1:1 ¶ Ἐν ἀρχῇ ἦν ὁ λόγος, καὶ ὁ λόγος ἦν πρὸς τὸν θεόν, καὶ θεὸς ἦν ὁ λόγος. Now if I change the search to this : and run it without search both directions I get no hits. Checking search both directions I also get no hits. But if I swap the Subject and Specifier elements in the Subject Phrase I do get the hit. Without search both directions : John 1:1 ¶ Ἐν ἀρχῇ ἦν ὁ λόγος, καὶ ὁ λόγος ἦν πρὸς τὸν θεόν, καὶ θεὸς ἦν ὁ λόγος. With search both directions : John 1:1 ¶ Ἐν ἀρχῇ ἦν ὁ λόγος, καὶ ὁ λόγος ἦν πρὸς τὸν θεόν, καὶ θεὸς ἦν ὁ λόγος. So with that, is my understanding correct then that the search both directions feature only permutes the search at the first level where there is more than one element ? Or is there another explanation ? ThxD
