Julia Falling
Hey - I was having some problems with my CPU getting very hot (up to 190 F), and my whole MBP getting very hot [late 2008 unibody 2.53 GHz 8G RAM HD upgraded to 750G 7200 RPM]. There was a software issue that has been resolved and the temperatures have come down. However, in pursuing this, I was given the following link. http://www.pantherpr...CPUtemperatures Thought some of you might be interested. My husband's iMac also seems to overheat. He found this shareware. We're trying it out and will send the developer some money if it continues to help. http://www.macupdate...9/smcfancontrol My MBP is running closed at this time connected to an external monitor. The temp is 153 F/64 C which is much more reasonable. I think these kinds of temperatures are pretty normal for this model. If you all are getting much lower temperatures for the same machine, I'd be interested to hear about it. I have noticed that my husband's 1-year old 13" MBP runs much, much cooler. I hope this info proves useful to someone else. It certainly helped me. Julie in Upper NE Tennessee OS 10.
