RANorem
Interestingly, in reading Hebrews from my Mounce-NT, I found that in my iOS version, chapter 11 is duplicated. My Mac version does not have this duplicate. What is puzzling is that I synched my iOS from my Mac. Has anyone else encountered this situation? Of course Hebrews 11 is worth reading twice in a row so it's not a problem for me, but it has aroused my curiosity.
Tony Lawrence
I just checked mine and only one chapter 11 of Hebrews. Tony Lawrence
Chuck Schneider
I checked my own copy on my iOS and didn't see any duplicate verses within the chapter or within the book. Same with OSX. However, I noticed on OSX that the Mounce-NT, except for the first chapter, never shows the chapter number or the fact that it's the book of Hebrews. This is not the case in the few other books that I checked. In my other translations, the paragraphs and chapters always start with Heb. 2, Heb. 3, etc.
JonathanHuber
This is probably an issue with the display of the text, not an issue with the text itself. Regardless, it happens to me as well (iPhone 4 on latest iOS). Other chapters of Hebrews will duplicate as well. Continuous scrolling through multiple repeated chapters eventually crashes the app.
Rick Bennett
The duplicated chapter is likely the result of an ongoing bug in iOS where if you quickly reverse the scrolling direction it redraws the text like that. We haven't been getting as many reports of this, but that's my guess. The issue with Hebrews in Mounce-NT is one we're looking into. It seems that the paragraph markers were unintentionally omitted in that book. I haven't noticed anywhere else in that text that this happens, but let me know if you see another example. Rick Bennett
Just wanted to follow-up on this thread: the issue with paragraphs in Hebrews is something we're going to look into over the summer along with a revision of the tagging. Dr. Mounce is using the text regularly in teaching and has plans to re-work the database to optimize the tagging and we can look at this at that time, too.
