New line character issues when pasting into User Tools

For the last several months, when I copy two or more paragraphs of text from NeoOffice into an Accordance User Tool, I get little rectangles at the end of each paragraph.

 

The NeoOffice developer recently discontinued most support for the "pre-2000 Mac Classic '\r' newline character." NeoOffice uses "the Mac OS X '\n' newline character."

 

I do not see these rectangles if I paste from NeoOffice into Text Edit. And I can copy from Text Edit to Accordance with no problems.

 

Finally, I use Butler to track recent clipboard contents. If the text I copy is in a previous clipboard (not the most recent copy), it will paste without the rectangles.
