new tools format not recognized

I have noticed that since 10.2.4, when I want to open a tool that is in the new .atool format and that was previously added to Accordance, Accordance asks me where the tool is and prompts me to navigate to it. I do as suggested, but the tool is greyed out, as it happens with modules that have already been added, or that can't be added.

If I switch to the Finder, ctrl-click on the atool and choose "show package content", and then move the tool itself out of the tool package into the Tools Folder, I can switch back to Accordance and add it. Of course, this is not how tools are meant to work, but I had to do that when I needed a tool that I couldn't otherwise open.

You need to remove the module from the Library pane and add it back using the plus menu at the bottom. We post the same response every week, to a similar question.

Unfortunately we have not yet been able to reproduce this problem, which occurs only for some people when a module is updated to the new format. Since we cannot reproduce it, we have not been able to find a fix for it.

Hi Helen,

I just erased my HD and re-installed Mountain Lion*. I manually migrated Accordance back to the app folder and application support folder (I can hear you groaning, but this has always worked flawlessly for me in the past).

In any case, not only am I having a major problem with the atool modules (e.g., I am asked where HALOT is and even though I'm staring at it in the right folder, Accordance keeps it grayed out). But here is my twist -- for the last few iterations of Accordance, I am not allowed to delete my modules in the library! So I can't even follow the advice you gave Marco.

See the pic below. (And I added another pic to show the grayed out HALOT).

Please help (when you have a moment).

-- sorry, forgot version info: OS 10.8.5, Accordance 10.2.4 (and rc1 -- neither reg or Aleph work).

* For those who don't know this, updating the OS perpetuated the nasty vowel and accent offset problem with SBL Hebrew and other unicode Hebrew fonts; a fresh install fixes it all. It's beautiful!

Rob: it will get fixed much quicker if you contact me directly and do a screenshare.

You cannot delete modules if the Library is a popover.

Aha -- library not popover. Got it. And now it works and I'm removing and re-installing with Easy Install. All is right again in my Accordance universe.

Thanks, Helen.
