I would like to suggest to add the Sacra Pagina Series, by Liturgical Press. The general editor is Daniel J. Harrington. Written by an international team of Catholic biblical scholars, it is intended for biblicalprofessionals, graduate students, theologians, clergy, and religious educators. The volumes presentbasic introductory information and close exposition, with each author adopting a specific methodologywhile maintaining a focus on the issues raised by the New Testament compositions themselves. The goal of Sacra Pagina is to provide sound, critical analysis without any loss ofsensitivity to religious meaning. This series is therefore catholic in two senses of the word: inclusive inits methods and perspectives, and shaped by the context of the Catholic tradition. I am a happy user of the 4th Volume: The Gospel of John, by Francis J. Moloney. It is a fresh look at the Fourth Gospel, that traces the point of view of the implied reader, the one that is gradually shaped by the narrative while the Gospel is being read. It is a fresh look at the Fourth Gospel, that traces the point of view of the implied reader, the one that is gradually shaped by the narrative while the Gospel is being read. The Matthew volume was required for one of my seminary courses shortly after it first came out, and I enjoyed it. My prof was very excited about the new series. Had not heard Berit Olam, but it sounds very interesting, too. I say that as a Protestant; interest is not limited to Roman Catholics. When I was pursuing training in the Christian Reformed Church while at Calvin Seminary my OT prof refered t the Berit Olam series. Now I'm a catholic priest. What a journey. G. I know you've got more suggestions for commentary series than you can handle, but I hope some day you can add this one. Lorinda I may add that the commentary on Acts would be especially welcome, since unfortunately it is not available in other commentaries available within Accordance, such as the WBC/NT or the NIGTC, or the Pillar. This leaves us with Hermeneia alone. The Hermeneia commentary is usually focused on Form Criticism. That can be useful, too, but I feel that I need even more a commentary which is focused on a closer understanding of Greek, such as the NIGTC, or on the final form of the canonical text, such as Sacra Pagina.
