tony10000
I am using the Windows version and would love to see an full-screen reading option like the one that Logos has. I can use the F11 key to expand to full-screen view and the space bar to advance the text by a page. Multiple columns would also be nice.
Λύχνις Δαν
There is the Reading Mode for a pane which is accessible under the little gear wheel icon on the top left of the inner most pane border. It will not give you multiple columns which I agree might be a nice option, particularly when using larger displays. Thx D
tony10000
Hi, I am aware of that mode, but it would be nice to be able to get rid of the tabs, toolbar and the rest of the interface a la Logos' full screen mode.
Λύχνις Δαν
I thought that might be what you wanted. For what it may be worth as a possible workaround in the meantime : you can get rid of the toolbar. There is a preference (I just found) to hide the tab area if there is only one tab in the zone - it's under Preferences -> Workspaces But the context slider, search box and the pane top border I cannot remove. tony10000
It would be really great if they could make everything go away with the F11 button. That is a Windows convention for fullscreen.
Battlesman
+1 to your request. And also, that the reading mode would have the ability to do pages like a book, rather than scrolling. Or ideally, a separate app (like Logos's Vyrso) where you can do reading.
Joel Brown
Tony, I'm not sure which interface elements you are bothered about in Reading Mode. Everything disappears except for the navigation bar at the bottom (in case you want to move around) and a thin bar at the top to show you which text you are reading, and in case you want to change it. The tabs, toolbar, menus, etc. all are gone. Supporting F11 is a good idea - we'll likely implement this soon. Supporting columns and pages (which go together - can't have columns without pages!) is also on our list, so thanks for the requests.
tony10000
Here is a comparison of Accordance and Logos full screen modes. I am looking for something closer to Logos' version:
Joel Brown
The top screenshot does not look like Accordance's Reading Mode. Are you sure you selected it from the Action (Gear) menu on the pane? From your screenshot, the only difference should be our lack of columns. tony10000
Then something must be wrong. I am definitely in reading mode. I am running Windows 8.1: See pic:
tony10000
This is the result when hiding the toolbar and also hiding the tab area:
Joel Brown
Interesting! It seems Full-screen doesn't activate properly if your app is maximized. We'll get this fixed ASAP. In the meantime, try un-maximizing your app (window-looking button in the top right, next to the Close X) and then try entering Reading Mode to see what it properly looks like. Thanks for finding this bug.
tony10000
It works when it is not maximized: So, I guess it is a bug...
Λύχνις Δαν
Ah now I get it - I don't use this mode all that often and had forgotten what it looked like apparently. Sorry. Thx D
