I need help with editing multiple user notes notes

Tonight I was working on making textual critical notes and so I was woking with my "Textual Notes" user notes. I then realized something interesting about the text that I wanted to add a note for in my general comments notes. I could not for the life of me figure out how to do that. After 20 minutes of trying, I was finally able to add my general note but have no idea what I did. Then it took forever to get it back to editing the textual notes. Is there a way to switch between what user notes you want to edit? When you are just browsing, there are commands for changing the document in a pane, but I have not found a similar action while editing notes.

When I first launch Accordance and attempt to edit a user note, is asks which notes I want to edit. Each subsequent time uses that selection.

Any hep would be appreciated.

Joe,

First, concerning your problem when "each subsequent time uses that selection," there is preference setting that controls it. Go to the preference for "User Notes Window" and de-click the box called "Reopen last Notes file selected in dialog"

Second, when you have your notes files in parallel panes to the biblical text you can simply begin typing in them to open an edit window. Once the edit window is open, you can create notes for the succeeding verses by clicking the arrow down button while also pressing the option key.

Third, you can also create a new note by clicking on the verse reference and then, through the resource palette, click on the desired note file in which you wish to create a new note.

Hope that helps.

Rob,

That is exactly what I needed. Thank you very much. I am still too new at this.

When the Help files are next updated, it would be helpful ( ;) ) if some of this could be included in the section on Editing User Notes. I ran into the same issue recently, and could not find anything in the Help files to resolve it. I searched the forums before posting and found an older thread that resolved things for me, although it only mentioned the preferences setting.

RobM.'s second suggestion is the easiest, but it only works if you have already made user notes on that (or a nearby) verse. I did not, so I had to go another route. I don't know why I didn't think about amplifying to the UserNote through the resource palette.
