PhotoGuide 3 Hitch

Recommended Posts

I can open PhotoGuide 3 from the library with no trouble. Everything works just fine. However, when I double click a location on the Atlas, it asks me "Where is the file for the "PhotoGuide" text?". If I then navigate to the correct location, Photoguide 3 is greyed out. Is there a clue in that it is asking for ' PhotoGuide' and not 'PhotoGuide 3'? I have reinstalled PhotoGuide 3 but to no avail.

What am I doing wrong? I can't understand why it should work one way and not the other.

Go to Set Map Display (Display menu) and select PhotoGuide 3 as the English tool, and set that as the default. You may also want to delete the older PhotoGuide from the Library window and your Accordance folder.

Have you tried setting the Default tool in the Map Window Display preferences? (see attached)

Advice is right on the nose, as ever. Thank you both very much. :)

May I ask a supplementary question:

I am a little colour blind and have difficulty distinguishing shades of red and green. I would like to change the colour/style of the found item in the map display to yellow and bold but I don't want to change any other search item colour.

Is it possible to do that?

Again, Set Map Display or Preferences: Map display lets you change the color of the hit or found items on the Map only.

Helen, I have (had) looked at Set Map Display. I can see options to change labels colour, etc for Route, Region and Site names but not for search found items. At the moment the set colour is red and, to use a simple example, if you search for Jerusalem, the found item appears in red on a red(ish) background and I find it difficult to see. Not a big issue, I just wanted to change it if there is a way and I couldn't find one.

It's the Extra Site Names and Extra Region Names. These are the found or added items that accumulate in the window. I agree that the wording is not too obvious. May I make a plug again for Window Help which would have told you:

Extra Site Names or Extra Region Names which you display on the map when you shift-click on a name, or use the Find button or amplify to the map from another module.

Aha! Now we're cooking with gas. Wonderful. :)

Sorry about the Window Help. I'll look there in future before bothering you (indeed I hope not to).
