Footnote Support for the User Tool Feature

It would be wonderful for the User Tool to support hyperlinked footnotes (like the Accordance-supplied tools do).

Sorry, this is way beyond what we intended for user tools, and would require major programming!

Ok, I'll pass on making comments as to the complexity of the programming effort

:).

Here's an idea. The integration of the Mellel Editor (supports Hebrew correctly) and the Bookends reference system is a marvelous combination for the Mac. How about exploring the possibility of some basic Accordance integration with these two products?

e.g. some "exits" could be defined to Amplify from words in Mellel directly to Accordance. Also, reference biblio information from Accordance Modules could be exported to Bookends in some kind of automated way.

This could give those doing Seminary and other Graduate Biblical Studies the ability to produce academically oriented papers (i.e. via Mellel/Bookends) with direct access to features in Accordance as they write (and share their work with other collaborators/reviewers).

Bookends: http://www.sonnysoftware.com/

Why, with a bit of creativity, Mellel might even become a "plugin" editor for User Tools/Notes in Accordance. With this kind of capability along with your ever expanding Library ... the possiblities start growing geometrically and Accordance will continue to leave any future competitors "in the dust".

So I've been reading through (very) old forum posts, and ran across this discussion. Sorry if it has been addressed by later posts I've not yet gotten to...

With that said, I agree that any integration or interaction btwn Accordance and Mellel beyond being able to export/import Unicode would be absolutely awesome! At present I am frustrated with the inability to type actual Unicode in User Notes/Tools (it is so nice just to switch keyboard inputs in order to switch languages--but maybe there is a kb shortcut for this in Accordance I have not yet found). Using the Israeli and Polytonic keyboard layouts helps, but does not solve the issue, because some of the characters (esp. ones which require the option key) still seem to be mapped diferently...)

On the other hand, I have had difficulty trying to import Unicode Hebrew if I write in Mellel and then cut/paste into Accordance. (Viz., characters are OK, but words are reordered l-t-r.) Again, maybe someone has found a fix. I'm actually at work on a PC, so I can't duplicate my experience in order to give further explanation. Sorry!

Thanks for the awesome program! I've been using Accordance since Fall '06 (bought it at the recommendation of my Hebrew prof, Miles Van Pelt), but am just recently using the forum and training videos and getting out of first gear...
