True. What I meant was: it's about $1 cheaper in Accordance than in OliveTree and Logos. Not an apples-to-apples comparison, as has been pointed out numerous times by folks in the forums, but nice that Accordance price-matched/offered a slightly lower price anyway.

 

I love The Printed Book. I regularly smell (and am mocked for smelling) new books. I like the way they feel, handle, and look on a shelf. And I cringe a tiny little bit any time copy from any Bible software company disparages the print book to promote an electronic counterpart. That said--I would categorically rather have any alphabetized lexicon in Accordance than in print. Much faster, easier to use, keyed to other stuff nicely, etc. Good idea for Accordance to have a pre-order option here.

I would be appreciative of someone's opinion who has used the older NIDNTT as compared with the revision. Perhaps Abram K-J could chime in since he has the print edition. I have the older NIDNTT in print and in Accordance. I haven't taken the books off the shelf since purchasing it in Accordance.

2. NIDNTT was published in 1986 (though earlier in Gernan I admit (1967)

 

So I think they may be different titles. However, I cannot find an edition 1 of NIDNTTE which makes me suspect you may be correct.

Yes, there will be an upgrade price, the same as the current pre-release, so if you own NIDNTT there is no hurry to order NIDNTTE now. Prices are set by the publisher.

Tony: I meant "the printed book" in general, not this one in particular. I don't have it.

 

Helen: I've seen a few Facebook friends post photos of their set, received in the mail last week. One was directly from Zondervan; the other may have been through Amazon, so I know people have received and are beginning to make their way through it. But I don't think anyone's posted any observations or reviews yet.

 

Though I do note in the interesting link Jonathan posted that Dan Phillips offers some comments.

Your order will be charged when you place it unless you leave a note requesting us to charge it only when NIDNTTE is released, and make sure the order goes to manual processing.

 

It's extra hassle for us to make a separate order and charge it only later, so it's up to you to request that extra step if you want it, there's no additional charge for that.

I do not wish to hassle you or anyone at Accordance. I greatly appreciate all you have done over the years. Given the earlier post that the upgrade price is the same as prepublication, there is no need to needlessly burden the sales staff.

Recently downloaded the upgrade to NIDNTTE.  I love the new content.  Thanks!! 

However, when I triple click on a Greek text the old NIDNTT it would show both the "Greek Entry" field and also the "Scripture" field as well.  That feature is VERY helpful & does not seem to be working on the NIDNTTE.  Is that feature available for the NIDNTTE as well?  Am I doing something wrong?

Go to your Accordance Preferences—>Amplify—>Include Reference When Amplifying from Text to Tool.

I checked that.  I have "include reference..." clicked in my prefs.  

 

I am not even able to add a field to the NIDNTTE to include "Scripture" to make it work.  

 

I fear that each "entry" is somehow separated in the NIDNTTE from the corresponding "article" such that adding fields to clarify search is unavailable.  

 

This is one of the BEST features/functions in Accordance tools.

I've found the issue in NIDNTTE. I've already added the fix to the module, but the full implementation of this fix won't be noticed until the update of the Accordance app itself, which should be coming along soon.

Just to note, the Accordance-side of the fix will likely not be in the up and coming 11.1, but it is high priority and shouldn't be too much longer.  It relates to the tricky notion of what an 'article' entails when doing multi-field tool searches.
