Seeing Greek on Word file

I copied some Greek text out of Accordance and pasted it in Word document. Sometimes it was messed up, but sometimes it was fine. When I emailed that file to myself to print that off, and opened it in a different computer, which is a school computer based on Microsoft Windows, all the Greek text that I copied from Accordance was messed up. What was interesting was that other Greek texts that I copied from the Internet was totally fine. Is it just because a school computer does not support a specific font that Accordance uses?

This may be a result of your preferences settings. Go to the Accordance menu and choose Preferences (or just hit command-,). Click on "Greek and Hebrew."

If you do not currently have the "Export all characters with Unicode format" checked, this may be the problem.

You might check to see what font the Greek text from the internet is in, and see if it is a Unicode font.

More than likely. Here is what I tell my fellow students when it comes to emailing papers to professors: Always print or save as a PDF so the Greek and Hebrew fonts will look right. For Mac users (using MacOS X) this is a breeze with the PDF option in every print window. For Windows users, there are several free print PDF apps available. Then email the PDF as an attachment.

This method doesn't help if editing or changes are needed, but is perfect for final printouts.

I suspect the Legacy font copying you did was what didn't work and that the stuff you copied from a web page that was in Unicode did work.

I might suggest you read the brief article:
