Ken Simpson
Hi I am working out how to search for γαρ when it is NOT the second word in a clause. so I select "clause" in my scope and enter γαρ <WITHIN 3-10 Words> [FIELD Begin] <OR> γαρ <WITHIN 1 Words> [FIELD Begin] executing this search produces 80 hits according to the info bar (don't know what else to call it) but NO words are "hit" (for me red text) and (I don't know whether it is significant) yet I can clearly see γαρ falling within my search parameters (eg Matt 2:6 third line). Finally, if I do an analysis, there are no data in the analyses... 1. Why aren't the hits showing up as highlights? 2. Is there a better way of doing this search? Helen Brown
Use the Construct window with PLACE 2 and a Not over it.
Ken Simpson
Thanks Helen, you know, I don't think I had ever really "seen" that item before... What's the logic as to why there were hits but not highlights in my search?
Helen Brown
Are you sure you had the same text as the Search text in your display pane?
Ken Simpson
Yep - here is a screen cap... Mystifying...
Michael J. Bolesta
Ken Running your search does not highlight γὰρ, but running Helen's construct does highlight the word.
