Changing Styles Erases Hyperlinks

In a User Tool in 10.4.3.2 (early 2008 iMac, Mavericks) I select a line that includes an already hyperlinked (by Accordance's "Make Link") reference, put it in all bold and change the color. Then the hyperlink stops working, even though the reference stays underlined from the initial "Make Link" action.

Can anyone reproduce? I'm assuming it's not expected behavior?

Yep - it repro.s. And turning the thing back into a link (Make Link or AutoLink) results in the loss of your style changes.

So my guess is that links and custom styles are incompatible but I don't know if its intentional or not.

thx

I'll need to double-check this, but I'm about 90% sure that the state of whether or not its a link is determined by its style when you exit the editing. The actual display of hyperlinks is then set in the Command-T of the tool, rather than during editing. So, if this is correct, it would mean that you can't have a hyperlink also be bold.

Thanks, Joel. I will be back at a Mac tomorrow morning to look again, too. But I do remember that after changing color (and putting in bold) and then re-clicking "Make Link," the bold text did, in fact, hyperlink properly from then on. It seemed to be something in the actual act of changing styles that broke the hyperlink.
