Opening Scripture ref in separate window/not tab

Hello,

I've set my Accordance Preferences (General) to open an initial window as a workspace with tabs. I prefer this since it neatly organizes any texts or tools I open. I've found, though, that when I click on a scripture reference in a tool this also opens another tab. Since I usually click on the scripture reference to quickly read the verse(s) and then close it, I'd prefer to have a separate small window opened (rather than another tab). A spawned small window has the advantage of not completely visually blocking the tool that I am using. I can also move a small window off to the side of my primary workspace if I want to keep it in view. So, is there a way that I can keep my general preference for a tabbed primary workspace but launch scripture references in a separate window? I've tried option-clicking/right-clilcking on the Scritpure verse thinking this might be a way... but to no avail.

Hi Martin--

 

I can't tell if you've already done this, but with the scripture tab as you have described it in focus, choose Window > Detach Tab, then try either Window > Arrange > Tile Windows (or manually resize and arrange your workspace and the new window). This gets you the separate window.

 

However, this particular way of working isn't automatically saved in the General preferences; you'll either need

 

to save the window arrangement as a session (File > Save Session...) and set Default Startup to this "Default Session" (also in General preferences)

 

or

 

if you plan to usually work this way and want Accordance to remember what you were working on previously, set the Default Startup to "Last Session."

Thanks, this helps. I also realized that there is already a right-click context menu for such links. Please consider for a future release adding a command to the context menu to specify whether a resulting window should open in a tab or a separate window.
