How do I setup a simple work space, 2 text, which scroll together where one is for searching and the other remains full text but scrolls with the search results?

You can tie two tabs together by either right-clicking on the tab or selecting the little down arrow menu on the tab, under the 'Tab Ties' submenu. By having them tied together, they will scroll in sync, regardless of any searches performed in either tab. This should help you accomplish what you are looking for!

I am in v. 10, its easy to get them to scroll together, I can't figure out how to get one to display the full text while the other shows only the single verse of the search results. They all want to follow the single verse display.

thx for helping

If you set the context slider on the one you search in to 0, does that help ? Just a thought. I am not at my Acc box to try it out right now.

Thx

If I have two tied zones and search on one then I still have the full text in the other zone. See screenshot

Is that your setup? If I have a parallel pane then they both show the selected verses because they only have one search box as follows:

Upheaval, it sounds like you've added the two items as 'panes' (Using the 'Add Parallel' menu) rather than as 'tabs'. Panes always show just the verses of each other pane. Thats why, if you want full text in one, you need a separate tab (double-click the text again in the library, or Command-D/Control-D duplicate your tab), and then tie them, as I described in my first post.

Steven how did you get that space, that is what I am after. If i simply tie two tabs they aren't visible without changing tabs, they scroll corectly but both open windows, or am I wrong?

Just click and hold on the tab of one of the tabs and drag it to the left or the right. You will see a grey outline as it nears the edge showing you where it will dock if you release the mouse button. When you have it where you want release the mouse button. This will put it in its own zone beside the other tab which will remain in the first zone.

Thx

Scott,

If you haven't already taken advantage of it, Dr. J has created a great training course that covers a lot of the basic workspace options. As an added bonus, there is a $10 credit waiting for you at the end if you participate in the quizzes and receive an 80% or better.

Hi Julie,

Yep, i have looked at a ton of the vids, My problem is that untill I have a need for a particular tip or trick I don't remember it, or may not not remember. Then to remember where or which vid had the info is again impossible. Just takes more time when the brain is getting old. you young guys enjoy while you have it.
