Mike Thigpen
I'm working with a count search for inflected forms. When I get details and select the concordance, everything has reverted to lexical forms not inflected. I was hoping to see each inflected form found in the search separately listed to see where it occurs. As it is displayed now, various inflected forms of the same lexical term are grouped together in the concordance data. Is there any way to have the concordance keep the inflected format from the original search? Thanks, Mike
Helen Brown
The concordance lists all hit lemmas wherever they occur and in whatever form, so typically it has many more results than the search itself. It does not do what you ask, sorry! It is best for one of two tasks: A complete listing of excerpts showing the hits of a few words throughout the text. A sort of every lemma found (search for *) in a specified range so that it produces a full concordance of that range. What you are asking for is a combination of the Construct and the Analysis, since the latter sorts your forms any way you want, but does not list the references. This has been requested before, but I am not sure if and when we will attempt to implement it. We have so much already in the works.
Mike Thigpen
Thanks for the speedy reply. I had thought this might be the case, but figured I should check before proceeding. Mike
