ManlyMan7
Hi all, I recently bought Accordance 10 and this this week upgraded to the Original Languages. I am still trying to get my bearings on Accordance. I have looked through many tutorial videos, but the differences (between an older version in the video and 10?) are big enough that I am still not connecting on certain details for use. For instance, I am seeking to get a handle on a Greek Construct (by doing a search from John 3 of "born again" in the Greek), and thought I had the construct ready to search, but when I hit enter, I get a message telling me, "A book name must be entered at the selection point". Still not sure how linking the construct window to a results window works, but I entered "[LINK Greek Construct]" into a Bible window above. And I have tried to put a book name in the results window as well as in the construct window, but no success. So, specifically, I am trying to get started on this Greek Construct, but in a more general sense, what is the best way to get oriented in Accordance 10? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Λύχνις Δαν
Hi ya, The simplest way to set up a construct with the links set correctly is to open a new search tab on a Greek text and hit Cmd-2 on Mac or Ctrl-2 on windows. Thx D
Helen Brown
The best way to get oriented is to use the various free training methods available on our Support page.
Timothy Jenney
Welcome to Accordance! The video we have available is not the best way to learn Accordance 10, as it was made with Accordance 7. Try our Lighting the Lamp podcasts instead: http://www.accordancebible.com/Lighting-The-Lamp-Podcasts. While this particular page lists them chronologically (in order of release), there are links at the top of the page to the Recommended Series for new users and a Topical Index. There are also some good tutorials in the online Accordance Help: http://file:///Applications/Accordance.app/Contents/Resources/Accordance%20Help/Default.htm. We have also just released an interactive course that covers the basics: http://accordancefiles1.com/basics/Accordance_Basics/Accordance_Basics.swf. Finally, we have webinars every week: https://attendee.gototraining.com/56hp2/catalog/8140406210915196416 The Basic Greek and Advanced Greek sessions (which I teach) will address those kinds of questions directly. Hope this helps!
