IMPROVED INSTALLATION

One gets a feeling of shagrin after ordering a module or upgrade when one has gone thru the supposed installation procedure, but then the feature or module does not appear in Accordance so that you could use it or even find it in the computer. I just bought Word Biblical Commentary, went thru installation process complete with colored horizontal bar moving on screen & working with the "agree" departments. Now that it has been allegedly installed, it ain't nowhere.

I hereby request that all modules & upgrades be so improved that they can be easily installed.

The written instructions in FAC for this problem also could be improved so that they are usable.

Yes, our instructions are not all they could be. It is hard to write clear ones for every different combination, and we cannot remaster the disks that are produced by other publishers.

I am glad that Keith in Tech support was able to get your WBC working for you.

My message is just a request. I'm sure you wud like to be able to wave a magic wand over all the installation problems. Just that Accordance works with all its complexities is a great blessing. Thanks to Keith for his help; it came very quick.

BTW, I don't think you hyped WBC well enough. I didn't realize that it was a commentary that referred to Hebrew and Greek, posting words in the original languages. I am very gratified to find that out after I bought it. Yes, I know I cud have spent more time checking it out than I did. But I wanted a complete commentary on the Bible, and among what you offered it seemed to be the best.

One thing that would improve WBC for me would be to have it all together so that if I move from OT to NT, I don't have to activate a different module. BTW, I wish there was a single OT-NT in the original languages for the same reason. Of course I realize that you operate under many constraints that I don't know about.

As to the FAQ on installation, when I read it what I needed to have added at the start of installation instructions was "Go to your desktop & click on your native harddrive. Then look in its menu for library . . . [ etc.]" Then given the subdirectory address, I could have moved the CD's WBC files to the tools subdirectory of Accordance. For some reason, I couldn't find the address into which those files should be dropped, by using either Spotlight or Finder. That was much simpler than using the Installation program with its blue bar & request(s) to agree & demand for password. Also, I was unable to find where the installer had dumped the WBC files. If only I could go back to DOS 3.3.
