Michael Hargraves
The above poll and this post is in addition to those already on the Accordance forum so as to see how many people are in fact interested in having Accordance on the iPhone. I would also like some feedback on whether the Accordance team are considering this as an option now that apple has released iPhone SDK for developers. Alex H.
There are a couple of these threads running, but I'll plonk my 2c worth here. IMHO, the problem Accordance would be up against is that there are already a number of specialist PDA Bible software packages well entrenched in the market. It would take a completely new department for Accordance to be able to compete with the others, in which case they'd probably need to go cross platform for it to be worthwhile. Or else they'd need to siphon resources away from their main product, which would be a bad idea with Libronix for the Mac in Alpha. Laridian lets me access my current purchases online for a very modest fee, and Olive Tree gives me language search features which you can bet they'll introduce into the iPhone pronto (if they don't, I won't be biting if/when the iPhone comes to Australia - can you believe we still don't have it?) That said, if they did come out with 'Accordance Mobile' and let me sync user notes as well as giving me language options, I'd be onto it in a flash. I just think they'd need to do it cross platform to be worthwhile (iPhone, Windows Mobile, Palm OS [maybe, it's in the wilderness], Symbian, Blackberry).
