making fonts pretty

I'm noticing that the fonts in the emulator look like quite blocky, like I'm on a mac from 1982.

Is there a way to improve the display quality? I've already increased the monitor settings to 32 bit,

but the text still look pixelated and is hard to read. Scaling it larger just makes it worse.

I'm assuming that the fonts are trueType, but they look like bitmap.

Help! Any suggestion appreciated! :)

More like 1992. Is there a preference for smoothing in one of the Control Panels? (I'll try firiing up my emulator later to see if I can answer my own question...)

I think all you can do is install something like SmoothType, an old control panel which did this sort of thing. How well it works with Accordance on the emulator, I cannot say.

If nothing else works, I was considering running Accordance on the PearPC emulator instead. It can emulate OS X.

Anyone have any experience with PearPC? I imagine the Accordance install would be with the regular mac software, rather than with the emulator version.

Edit: it appears that while PearPC is free, it only works if you own an install of OSX. Doh!
