updating-connection timeout

I have recently tried to update the modules through Accordance ("check for updates") but after some time during the download process, I am told that the connection timed out and the process was cancelled. How does one get around this? I tried several times with the same result.

I just tried downloading several rather than all at one time and that seems to work.

There are a couple of possibilities here, all of them related to the speed of the internet at any given time. Yes, downloading fewer modules at once will help. Here are some other suggestions:

1. If you are on a wireless connection, go to a wired connection for the download.

2. If you are connected to one or more servers, log off those servers before updating.

3. Internet speed varies enormously, depending upon the time of day. Try updating late at night or very early in the morning.

4. It is possible something major is wrong with your internet connection or OakTree's. There's nothing you can do about the latter but wait, but you can check the former by trying to access a familiar web site. If it is slow too, try resetting your cable modem [or whatever internet connection you are using]. If that doesn't work, contact your internet provider to see if they are experiencing problems.

Hope this helps! :)
