What is your favorite new Accordance 11 feature?

I have to say that I have been anxiously awaiting the release of Accordance 11. The "sneak peeks" that have been given have only excited my interest further. I must say that I can see a lot of well thought out features that are a part of Accordance 11. Some of the features will be nice while others will be essential to being productive. I suppose everyone will have a different favorite.

My favorite new feature in Accordance 11 is by far the new "Info Pane." I can already see that this will make me much more productive.

What's yours?

I would have to say the new Info Pane is also currently the most useful to me. It has allowed me to add the Info Pane in my main workspace and eliminate several others, so it is cleaner and more efficient to get to information I want.

The research is interesting, but frustrating in how it prioritizes my results. I can search on Paul and Smith's, Easton's and Hitchcock come up with dictionary entries before Anchor. Perhaps it should just use my library priorities. I like being able to see more of the hit in context.

I don't use notes. I had my library organized, but chose to test the new option. I am now tweaking it. It would be cool if we could have saved our old library set up. If you have elaborately set up your library, choosing the option to let Accordance do it will create lots of work for you but you may like some of the category options.

I have removed several resources now that I can select what I want easy install to reinstall. I prefer this to having a not used category in my library for bibles in foreign languages, sample maps etc.

jfidel,

We'll continue to refine our Research algorithm to help get better results. I think I see why Anchor is being pushed a bit lower than it should, so expect an improvement in that area.

Also, as a note for other users, you get all of the features of the Library, even if you don't want Accordance to automatically recategorize. If you like your old setup, feel free to continue using it, and the capabilities of moving around your tools are still present.

Thanks Joel for the clarification. I actually think the library feature is good, and apologize if I was not clear in my post. You did a great job with 11.

The info pane is my favorite feature closely followed by research. BTW, is there any way to change the fonts in the research pane? I have a hard time reading the default font since it is very light.

Narrowing down to a favorite is almost impossible. At present, if I'm wanting other resources then the Info pane is number one but if I want to do a topic or word study then Research is number one.

I love the user notes for any anything in my library. Brilliant job and thanks so much!

The info pane is my favorite along with the command-click cross references in the latest update. I'm still quite amazed at how the command-click on topics runs a search.

Another feature is that the link in the info pane to atlas and dictionaries are simple and take you quickly to those resources.

One particular thing that I'm not aware of in any other software is that when references open in a new pane, you can "add parallel" to those and do it with a combined greek/hebrew resource. All the while, the speed does not suffer.

I agree with Fidel. It would be great if we could set the priority of how the tools are displayed.

My favorites and most useful to me are the Info Pane and Research.

My third favorite is the new Library arrangement. Most useful for those of us that may not be familiar with many of the tools.

Notes, while improved, I would love to see more formatting options.

The Quick entry is nice for us non-native english speakers.

I really like the info pane as well. It would be great if you could add a keyboard shortcut to bring up the info pane because I'm already using it regularly but it's not something I feel like I need all the time in my workspace.

To those who want to search by library order, if you go to Preferences, then Reading/Research, you can change the default search order to Library rather than Priority.
