Jonathan C. Borland
Hi Accordancers, Perhaps this has already been done, but if not, I'd like to request a shortcut key for the Instant Details pane to switch between the preferred text and alternate text when hovering over a hypertext verse reference in any tool. Often I want to know instantly how the Chinese version or the Greek has a verse, without opening a new window and changing the text. If we already have this option, please let me know! Thanks! Sincerely, Jonathan
Anthony Sepulveda
Hey, this is interesting. I tried several possible key combinations while hovering over a hypertext reference, like we do with Bible text modules on tagged texts, but none of them seem to work. Helen Brown
The purpose of the alternate text is to fill in when sections are missing, such as OT for primary and NT for secondary, or a protestant version and one with apocrypha.
Jonathan C. Borland
Thanks, Helen. I like the instant details pane. It already does so much. I'm not sure how much interest there is for adding the kind of function I've described. Currently I use a separate pane with a parallel text for viewing hypertext scripture references in 2 versions. To have a function (e.g. opt-cmd-[hover]) to view an alternate/secondary text in instant details would be helpful, and also save some screen space on smaller MacBooks. Anthony Sepulveda
+1 I guess it would be generally to be able to consult two different text versions (e.g. LXX-BHS, original-traslation, english-foreign, etc.) when a hypertext scripture reference permits it; besides, the key shortcuts are still unused, and they can be dedicated to this function analogous to consulting Bible text modules.
